I’ve been fortunate to see this buck with my own eyes and take the first photo. The other three are from my game camera while he was eating corn. He is one fine animal.
Father’s Day reminded me of this photo of me and my Dad. My father passed away in 2004 at the age of 90 and would have been 93 tomorrow if he was still with us.
I shot this deer about a mile from where I grew up. During those growing years, deer were never seen close to our home. Daddy did not believe me when I told him I had shot a buck and was as excited as I was to learn they had finally ventured into our part of the world. These days, I mostly hunt with my camera, but there was a time when hunting with a rifle was a big part of my life.
